Burberry Prorsum Show London 2010

Studio Campaign headed over to the Burberry womenswear prorsum show.
A total event to say the least, with A list front rowers, projected rain sequences, beautiful clothes and all shot 3D and projected to selected international locations, where people watched with specially designed Burberry 3D goggles.

An amazing piece of organization from the Burberry team.

NY 11-18-02-10

February 2010

London based studio Campaign are pleased to announce their collaboration with luxury men’s brand dunhill on NY11-18-02-10. dunhill commissioned Campaign to realize their vision for a temporary installation during New York Fashion Week, a vision that challenged whether it is possible to move the grandeur of the brand home in London to NYC momentarily.

Taking up residence in one of the last remaining archetypal disused warehouse spaces in the Meatpacking district of the city for one week, NY 11-18-02-10 recreates Bourdon House, the home of Alfred Dunhill in London, offering a rare opportunity to experience the unique atmosphere of this extraordinary Georgian London House.

The installation recreates an ethereal facade of Bourdon House with 22 separate 3m x 1.5m and 2mm thin laser cut white powder coated aluminum panels. The panels are suspended from the ceiling using unistruts to hover dramatically over a black rubber floor. A lifesize vinyl of the Bourdon House exterior and its Mayfair environs completes the streetscape. The drama and theatricality of the space are further heightened through the use of photographic lights in an arrangement designed in collaboration with New York Photographer Frank Oudeman.

Beyond the small and self-contained lobby entrance, the three distinct spaces of Bourdon House, the Archive and the Garden are contained within a vast 600sqm interior.

Reminiscent of a Georgian interior temporarily hosting dunhill’s Autumn/Winter 2010 collection, this space will display 30 key looks on bespoke made easels and frames complimented by antique brass clothes rails. The mirror above the fireplace provides a frame to project a film of the latest dunhill Paris presentation. Selected pieces from the Alfred Dunhill museum can be admired alongside a limited edition range of products that can be bought.

A modern interpretation of an English garden in the space can also be discovered. Channeling the essence of a memorial garden, visitors can – through the magic of projection - enjoy the sights and sounds of London’s buzzing Mayfair while sitting on ‘park’ benches, each bearing the engraved plaque ‘Alfred Dunhill – 1872 – 1959 – he would have loved this place’.

RIP Lee Alexander Mcqueen 1969-2010

Without knowing the man, but knowing his work we are all here in studio incredibly saddened by the terrible loss of Lee McQueen.

Such a massive British creative talent that I am sure all of us have referenced at some point, has departed.

Burberry London Fashion//Catwalk goes 3D

Burberry are staying in London this fashion week, which is really good news. But for those unable to attend London Fashion Week, the British brand will stream their LFW show live in 3D to simultaneous events globally.

“This unprecedented event will enable people to experience the energy and atmosphere of this showfrom around the world. 3D technology will bring our global audience into the London show space allowing them to see the colours and fabrics, to hear the music and to be a part of that moment when it all finally comes together.”

Said Christopher Bailey, Chief Creative Officer.

Renzo Rising Debate//Central St Giles

So we are all a little torn here on our views on Renzo Piano's Central St Giles development over at TCR. The design brings vast amounts of colour to the city, how did he ever get this through planning..........same planning lawyer as The Shard I guess.

Let us know your thoughts.

Interactive Ink

PAPPELTALKS from vizage on Vimeo.

Hubero Kororo designed this interactive CD cover for the band Uceroz. When you open the CD packaging on the side, ink is set free and bleeds into the cover of the CD. I really like this idea.

Campaign: Fashion meets Furniture Design

Over the next few weeks we will be taking a look at the emergence of fashion labels developing furniture, rolling on from the Diesel/Moroso collaborations we have already seen happen.

The Swedish creative agency Acne, which is mostly known for its fashion brand, presented its first furniture collection during the Paris fashion week. The started off from a Swedish design classic byCarl Malmsten: the Nya Berlin (New Berlin) Sofa. He designed it for the Swedish consulate in Berlin and hasn’t been in production since 1949. Acne stretched, squashed and pulled the simplistic shape to create new sculptural forms. The designs are of course upholstered with denim which they bleached and hand-dyed. I’m curious to see them in real life.
